Canada COVID-19 laws give Pratto the opportunity to make MLB debut

Kansas City baseball has had multiple ups and downs throughout the 2022 season. Their record is just one of many; however, there are some positive spots from time to time. Following Eric Hosmer's departure for San Diego in 2018, the Royals have searched far and near for his replacement by bringing up Ryan O'Hearn and others. The past few seasons of Kansas City baseball have been pretty frustrating to watch; however; there have been some bright spots from Brady Singer to Bobby Witt Jr reaching the big leagues along with others. Many fans have been waiting to see Bobby Witt Jr, Brady Singer and others be in the majors all at the same time. Kansas City's #2 rated prospect will be joining the top prospect in all of  baseball in Toronto after the team's lack of players able to enter the Canadian border due to the COVID-19 protocols in Canada. Kansas City drafted Nick Pratto in the 2017 MLB Draft out of high school from Huntington Beach, CA. Pratto began his professional career with the Arizona League Royals. The number two prospect in the Royals system raked through the team's minor league system, and Omaha wasn't any different. While with the Storm Chasers, Pratto posted a disappointing .240 batting average this season; but despite his somewhat of a disappointing batting average, the left handed batter ripped the cover off the ball with 17 home runs and 47 runs batted in. The 23-year old's offensive numbers are just one of many skills he possesses. Pratto has taken home many rewards even before getting drafted by Kansas City. In 2015, the first baseman played in the 18U Baseball World Cup for Team USA. Pratto's numbers in Omaha weren't too surprising for many, but the time it took for the Royals to call his name to the big leagues surprised many fans after seeing the Royals sign veteran first baseman Carlos Santana to play first base the past year and a half. Unlike many of the series the Royals have played this season, fans are more excited for the series in Toronto with Nick Pratto and Bobby Witt Jr playing in the big leagues together.  Pratto started at first base last night and batted sixth in the lineup for Kansas City. The Royals and fans will be hoping Pratto can take the first base position by the horns and never look back.
